Things To Do In Lead Up To Christmas

With Christmas now only a few weeks away it is time to get ready for the influx of guests its time to have a think about having that pre Christmas clear out. Here are a few things I am working on to make sure we are all set for the Christmas period.

Sort out the guest room!

If you have visitors you’ll want to sort out and clear a space for your visitors. We have been searching for some fab accessories to jazz up what we already have. One of our favourite websites for this is Lions Home because it has such stylish feel but also because it has some really practical advice on their blog too.

If you can afford it think about getting new festive bedding and a few new books to place on the bedside table. These are simple ways of making the room freshen up without spending too much of your budget.

Have a pre Christmas clear out.

One of the things we have to do, especially as we have 2 children with Winter birthdays, is have a big sort and clear out. This time of year is a great time to do a ‘spring clean’ of the living space and bedroom, even that storage cupboard you have been avoiding for ages. We gift a lot of things to charity shops or friends to reuse, a lot of children toys and clothes are in great condition especially from younger children so it makes sense to give them a clean up and pass them on.

Book your christmas shopping online now!

A lot of the supermarkets have opened up their Christmas shopping slots for delivery now so grab one quickly to ensure you get a date near to Christmas – meaning no last minute headless chicken around the shops!

We also make lists for the kids on Amazon and send those to relatives that ask. It means the kids get presents that they’ll love. It’s also a fab idea to ask for clothing or shoes in the next size up so that you are covers for the year coming up and any growth spurts. Kids really don’t need for much so this can work really well instead of loads of toys.

What tips do you have going into the festive season? I’d love to know!
