It’s been 8 weeks since my youngest not-so-little bundle of joy entered the world. Boy number two certainly made himself known, tipping the scales at 10lb 2oz, and he’s now seemingly the world’s biggest two month old at 16lb 4oz. It’s a fairly frightening prospect that I’m hoping to lose twice this amount of ‘baby weight’ in my postnatal health and fitness efforts, which I’ve kicked off this week with a 7 day clean eating detox, and I start running again next week as I aim to cover 1000 miles over the next ten months for the charity MAMA Academy.
Of course, a huge upside to dropping a couple of dress sizes again means I can finally ditch the maternity jeans and get back into my old clothes. Oh, and buy some gorgeous new ones. Here’s what’s on my weight loss wish list for starters.
I just adore the cut of this dress – although it is recommended to wear with a petticoat to achieve full 50s swing effect, so it’s not really for the school run. It’s quite a wearable design though and at £29.99 it’s an absolute bargain.
I definitely need a bit of an overhaul of my tops. I’m normally a skinny jeans kind of girl day-to-day, and this longer length floral print top from Monsoon caught my eye as being a more stylish addition to my wardrobe to pair with the new black skinnies I also need to get.
I tend to do most of my shopping on the high street as I like to be able to try stuff on before I buy, and Next is a perennial favourite of mine. I also think a simple denim skirt is a wardrobe staple, and I like this shorter length buttoned one for pairing with opaque tights and ankle boots in the winter.
Sequin Heart Jumper from Oasis
I do like clothes with a touch of something different, like a whimsical print, or in this case a big heart made of sequins to liven up this lovely soft jumper. I’d be wearing this with the denim skirt or skinny jeans for a smarter casual look.
I’ve already have a shirt dress from H&M in my wardrobe and I love it. I’m looking forward to wearing it again, and I’d like to add this one to it as another winter staple with thick tights. The pocket detail keeps it casual.
So, now I know what I want to buy, I’ve just got to lose two stones first. It’s a good incentive!
